Turn-Key Furnishings Project for the Qatar Emir
Intrigued by the project that, a couple of years earlier, we did in Lebanon (precisely in Ras el Jabal) for his sister (decor of a villa overlooking the sea), it was the Emir of Qatar himself who contacted us to participate in the tender from he was appointed for the furnishing of the brand new Royal Palace in Doha. Wanting to personally test the goodness of our achievements, Emir Al Thani has selected us from a considerable number of competitors to furnish the newly built Palace in Aspire, a Doha neighborhood located right in front of the new Sport Complex where the Championships will be held world 2022.
The realization of the design concept was the work of the Tunisian architect Walid Layouni who, interpreting the needs of the Royal Family at best, chose a mixed decor: the most "formal" area of the Palace (Man majiliss, Lady majiliss, Office) presents a baroque style furniture while other rooms (play room, bedrooms) are decorated in a déco glam style.
The Mantellassi team took care of the complete realization of all the furnishings: from the architectural drawings to the executive drawings, up to the complete installation. We have developed all the designs and counter-samples of the finishes, created exclusive fabrics for both the upholstered furniture and the curtains, started producing the carving archetypes and all the other details that a turnkey furnishing project requires.
The result, incredibly satisfying, is an innovative furniture, which amazes and surprises for the value of the materials, variety of styles and richness of details: in this project our vocation as bespoke interior designers was able to express itself at the highest levels, creating curtains, furniture, sofas and armchairs with a great personality. Among all, the huge boiseries stand out, proposed in an innovative formula of wallpaper, carving and lacquering, and installed in the size of 5 meters with upper pediment: their hand carvings, made on seasoned beech wood, are of a unique preciousness of its kind.
Honored for the many compliments received (including those of the Sheikh in person) and proud of the final result, we hope in the future to be able to count again the Royal Family of Qatar as our customer.
